India vs England: England have won the toss and have opted to bat
India vs England: England’s captain, Jos Buttler, won the toss and chose to bat first against India, led by Rohit Sharma, in the second ODI of their 3-match series at Cuttack on Sunday. The spotlight will be on Virat Kohli and Rohit, as both are expected to step up after a shaky start. Kohli missed the first match in Nagpur due to injury, while Rohit’s form has been a concern, having scored just 2 runs in the previous game. Fans and the team management alike will be hoping for these two stalwarts to rediscover their best form ahead of the 2023 ODI World Cup.

India vs England:Pitch Report | Deep Dasgupta and Graeme Swann: This is a high-scoring venue. 63 and 64m square boundaries and 73m hit down the ground. I will do a knuckle test first, it’s not hard as the last pitch we played at and it’s cracked so it might spin a bit in the last 30 overs.
While the Sun is out through the day. I think the ball will come on nicely. I feel the pitch is a bit abrasive. It might slow down in the second half of the first innings. You might want to bowl first and there might be a bit of dew in the second half. The pockets at mid-wicket are short so spinners will have their task cut out.

WICKET! A brilliant take by Shubman Gill here. Hardik Pandya gets the wicket as he goes for the odd slower delivery and Buttler mistimes it to the fielder by the cover region. A crucial wicket for India.
Jos Buttler 34(35) c. S Gill b. H Pandya
India vs England:Another over where the runs are coming off the singles and doubles. No pressure is being put on the batters whatsoever here. 7 runs coming off the over by Mohammed Shami.
Uh oh, Kohli gets hit on the arm from a quick throw from covers and he isn’t too happy. There’s an immediate apology but the crowd is even more displeased.
Adil Rashid makes it flight and turn away from Kohli who gets a thin edge to the ‘keeper. It’s given not-out but DRS changes the decision and finds a spike on UltraEdge. Another cheap wicket for Kohli!
After a great start from India, England have slowly crawled back into the contest. Though Shreyas Iyer has started decently, hitting a nice boundary, India need to get through this phase.
Rohit is looking so daunting for England here. As soon as he got his 100, he has started smashing bowlers all around, just like he was doing it in the powerplay. This is typical Rohit Sharma and England need a breakthrough desperately.
Rohit tries to go after Livingstone but ends up skiing it. Adil Rashid makes a big sprint and takes a clinical catch over his shoulders. End of a brilliant knock from the Indian captain.
Shreyas Iyer run out (Buttler/Adil Rashid) 44(47)
