West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee is set to visit England:
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is going on a visit to England this month. The Chief Minister will reach London from Kolkata via Dubai on March 21. She will deliver a speech at the Kellogg College Hub of Oxford University on March 27.

According to state administration sources, the Chief Minister received an invitation from the Alumni Association of Oxford University. The invitation to deliver the lecture was sent to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) at the end of 2024. Mamata has been invited to deliver a speech in front of Oxford students and researchers. She has accepted the invitation. In her speech, she can talk about the development of West Bengal, social projects like Kanyashree, Bengal’s culture, Bengal’s history and the tourism environment.
In addition to delivering a speech at Oxford University, the Chief Minister will also hold an industry conference during this visit. A source from Nabanna says that she will highlight the state’s current industrial policy and industrial environment there. A two-day industry conference was held in West Bengal in February. She can also highlight the successes of the World Bengal Business Conference to the industry community there. Earlier, Mamata had discussed investment in the state with the business community of that country during her visit to London.

Earlier, the Chief Minister had visited Spain in 2023 to bring investment in industry. Many in the Bengal industry believe that the state has benefited from that visit in the next two World Bengal Business Conferences. Various representatives from the UK participated in the recent Bengal Global Business Summit 2025 in Kolkata. Mamata’s visit to London comes within a month of that.
However, it is not clear on what topic the Chief Minister will address at Oxford University. The Chief Minister will return to Kolkata on March 29.
