Attack on Indian FM S Jaishankar in London:

Jaishankar arrived in Britain on Tuesday. He met with Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Jaishankar had gone to Chatham House on Wednesday night to attend a discussion. At that time, a group of yellow flag-bearers were protesting on the side of the road. They were shouting anti-India slogans in front of the police.

Allegedly, an ‘attacker’ ran straight in front of Jaishankar’s convoy. He tore the Indian flag in front of the police. Then other protesters also tore the tricolour. Initially, the police were a bit hesitant, but after a while they removed the protesters.

A video of the attempted attack on Jaishankar has already gone viral online. It shows the man aggressively running towards the minister’s convoy, while officers initially hesitate to take action. The protestor is seen tearing the tricolour while others chant slogans. However, the police later intervened. The man and others were removed from the scene by the police.

Another video shows Khalistani militants shouting anti-India slogans outside Chatham House during Jaishankar’s meeting. The footage shows them waving their flags and chanting pro-Khalistani slogans.

The Indian Foreign Minister was on a five-day visit to the United Kingdom from March 4 to 9. There, an attempt was made to attack the Foreign Minister’s vehicle by breaching the cordon.

Earlier, Jaishankar met with UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy. They had a long meeting at Chevening House. They discussed several bilateral issues. Starting from diplomatic and political coexistence to trade and commerce, the two sides also talked about education and technological exchanges between the two countries.

According to sources, during the meeting at Chatham House, Jaishankar was asked about the Kashmir issue. The question was asked whether Narendra Modi wanted Donald Trump’s intervention in resolving the Kashmir issue with Pakistan. However, the Foreign Minister clearly stated that India has taken sufficient steps to handle the Kashmir situation. S Jaishankar also mentioned the issue of abrogation of Article 370, starting from development in Kashmir.
