Famous singer and lyricist Pratul Mukherjee passed away. The singer had been ill for a long time. He was admitted to SSKM for several days. A few days ago, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee visited the artist at the hospital. The legendary artist died at the age of 83. He breathed his last at SSKM Hospital on Saturday morning.

Pratul Mukherjee had been admitted to the hospital for several days due to old age-related ailments. He was admitted to the main block of SSKM Hospital. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee went to see singer Pratul Mukherjee there on Wednesday, February 12. It was learned on Saturday morning that the artist is no more. He did not respond to treatment at the last moment.

His father, Prabhat Chandra Mukherjee, was a government school teacher. He used to sing songs written and composed by himself since childhood. He started his career with the poem ‘Ami Dhan Katar Gaan Gai’ by poet Mangal Charan Chattopadhyay. He later emerged as a singer and lyricist.
