What did Biren Singh write in his resignation letter?

Singh said in his resignation letter today, “It has been an honour to serve the people of Manipur so far. I am extremely grateful to the Central government for timely actions, interventions, developmental work and implementation of various projects for safeguarding the interest of every single Manipuri.
Today, BJP’s northeast Manipur in-charge Sambit Patra, state BJP president A Sharda and at least 19 MLAs were with Singh.”

Biren Singh apologised for violence

Earlier, on the last day of last year, the Manipur Chief Minister had apologised.

He told a news agency, “The entire year has been filled with misfortune. I express my condolences to the people of the state for what has been happening in the state since May 3. Many people have lost their loved ones. Many have left their homes. I feel bad for this. I apologise.”

Biren Singh further said, “There has been some improvement in the peace situation in the last 3-4 months. I hope peace will return to the state in the new year. My appeal to all the castes of the state is that what is done is done. Now we have to forget the old mistakes and start a new path. We have to work to build a developed and prosperous Manipur.”

Then why the sudden decision to resign? Sources say that the BJP MLAs of Manipur are also unhappy with Biren Singh’s role. Then the Congress is thinking of moving a no-confidence motion in the assembly. The situation is such that if the no-confidence motion is passed, there was a fear of the government falling.
