Former Indian cricket team captain Sourav Ganguly‘s car met with an accident while going to a function at Burdwan University on Thursday.No one suffered injuries in the accident. However, the car was damaged.

Former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly’s car met with an accident. His car met with a road accident on Thursday near Dantanpur on the Durgapur Expressway while he was on his way to Bardhaman. He was going to attend a University programme in Burdwan.
The incident took place at Dadpur in Hooghly on the Durgapur Expressway. It was raining. Ganguly’s Range Rover was moving at a normal speed when a lorry suddenly tried to overtake his convoy, causing the vehicles to lose control. In an attempt to stabilise the situation, the driver of Sourav’s car braked in time, but a minor collision occurred between the two vehicles behind the convoy. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured. Sourav also did not suffer any injuries. Two vehicles in the convoy were slightly damaged in the collision.

Following the accident, Sourav had to stop on the expressway for about 10 minutes before resuming his journey once the situation was under control.No one suffered injuries in the accident but two vehicles in his convoy were damaged.

Later, Ganguly attended the programme organised at Burdwan University. Then Maharaj answered various questions of the students at the auditorium of the Golapbag campus of Burdwan University. He also visited the university’s Mohun Bagan ground. From there, he went to the Radharani Stadium in Burdwan. There, Sourav was felicitated by the Burdwan Sports Association.

Sourav said, “I am overwhelmed. It feels great to be in Burdwan. I am even more happy that you invited me. BDS (Burdwan Sports Association) was asking me to come for a long time. It feels great to be here today. CAB has been working with the Burdwan sports organization for 50 years. Many players have emerged from the district. In the future, we should also raise players from the district in this way.”
