The unrest in Jadavpur University does not seem to be abating. After the tension throughout the day on Saturday, a new intense sensation spread on the university premises at night. Allegedly, miscreants set fire to the office of Shikshabandhu Samiti in the dark of night. The campus of Jadavpur University has been in a state of chaos since morning. Torn banners and hoardings are scattered everywhere on the campus. Smoke is still coming out of the office of the Shikshabandhu Samiti run by the Trinamool Congress. The office of non-teaching staff is burnt to ashes.

Fire breaks out at Shikshabandhu Samiti office at night: After 9:30 pm on Saturday, the university security guards saw the flames. Seeing the fire, the university security guards started extinguishing it. Later, after receiving information, a fire engine arrived at the spot. The situation gradually came under control. The police came and sealed the place at night. The police have started searching for who or what set the fire.

University security guards alleged that it was difficult to identify the perpetrators of the incident as there were no CCTV cameras in front of the office.
