February 14th is known to almost all of us as Valentine’s Day, but on this day in 2019, a painful incident took place, which is known as Black Day, because on this day 40 CRPF jawans were martyred, and the entire country was plunged into mourning.
Pulwama Attack: It has been almost 6 years since the Pulwama terror attack, but the pain of that painful scene still lingers. 40 CRPF jawans were killed in the blast and many more were injured. This day reminds the heart of every Indian of the sacrifice of our martyrs.
What Happened on 14th February 2019 Pulwama Attack?

On February 14, 2019, India faced its worst terrorist attack, when a convoy of Indian security personnel was attacked by a vehicle-borne suicide bomber. Around 3 pm that day, the terrorist attack took place in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir. Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) suicide bomber Adil Ahmed Dar attacked a CRPF convoy with a vehicle laden with explosives. The incident further heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, as the terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), which claimed responsibility for the attack, said a Pakistan-based terror organization was behind the attack

The Aftermath and National Response
In the wake of the attack, India witnessed a state of mourning and solidarity. Citizens from all walks of life came together to pay their respects to the martyrs and support their families. Political parties rallied to support the security forces and India increased customs duty on all Pakistani goods to 200 percent. Many countries, including the United States, France and Russia, have condemned the attack in support of India.

On 26 February 2019, the Indian Air Force carried out an airstrike on the Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorist camp located in Balakot, Pakistan. At around 3 pm, 12 Mirage 2000 fighter jets of the Indian Air Force crossed the Line of Control (LoC) and destroyed the Jaish camp.

Every year on 14 February, the nation pays tribute to these heroes. Memorials, candlelight vigils and tributes on social media platforms ensure that their legacy lives on. It is a day to honour their bravery and reaffirm our commitment to stand against terrorism in all its forms.
